Shady Dealership

I went through Costco Auto Program and they wanted me to sign a settlement agreement to give me a refund after sending me to a dealership that ripped me off.

I did follow up. They only write on perfect records regardless of fault. I have an accident from a year ago where it was ruled the other drivers fault. Zrero fault of mine. This practice, in my opinion should be illegal.

I was deceived by a Costco Auto Program Dealer

The dealer called me about a car that i wanted. They sent the info sheet on the car with the price by email.

It listed all the added options and specs. I asked over the phone and email about the Costco Auto Program repeatly. They told me that i needed to come in so that they could see my Costco card. No other info was provided.

The dealership is not close to me but i told the them i would make the trip. After we meet, they told me i had to purchase an additional $5,000 bogus cleaner package plus some goofy gps tracker security that i quickly rejected. They should of told me this over the phone and not deceived me into thinking the cost of the vehicle was what they sent over in an email. Sounds like a " bait and switch".

I wasted many hours of my time. Is this how Costco treats their customers?

Just another hard sell tactic

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Costco referred me to an out of state dealer who insisted I come in for a test drive. They refused to give me the Costco price sheet unless I came in. Its just another hard sell tactic. Non-Costco-related dealers have been happy to provide pricing by email without me having to come in.

Dishonest Car sales in Costco auto program

+1. My son was referred to Lou Sobh Honda. He was looking at a 2021 Civic and was shown out of door price of $28,207.91 The discount was minimum and multiple lines of unexplained dealer fees. It is a complete waste of time with the Costco auto program.

So upon noticing this, I hope he walked out. If he is over 18 he learned a lesson.

Don’t be a helicopter parent and complain after the fact. Funny how you know all of this after the fact.

I bought a car through this program in 2012 and was pleased with the deal I got. Fast forward to 2021. I got pricing on a new car and at first thought the dealer was joking. They were willing to take $400 off a $31000 car. Also, the dealership lied to me about the trim level I wanted not being manufactured any longer. I went to another dealer and got the trim level I wanted for a better price. DI\ wo I woI

after being told That the costco price was $350 over invoice I ended paying nearly the full inflated MSRP and then after letting costco know about this they said they would look into it ,but have not heard any thing. Could have got the suv for at least $5000.00 less. cant trust Costco dor a good deal.

POOR service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I made my appointment at the Costco Tire Center in Lincoln, NE. I was told it would take an hour to install my new tires.

I was surprised by the length of time, but I figured they want you to walk around the store and buy things. The time wasn't the issue, it was the service.

After 70 minutes, I finally got the call that my vehicle was done. I had to ask the caller where we were supposed to meet. I was already at the Tire Center, but waiting 10 minutes, then a young man came up to me asking if I was the owner of the red GMC SUV, which I am.

He tossed me my keys and left. I stood there another 10 minutes waiting for my receipt and warranty information on the tires, nothing. I walked out of the store to find my GMC near the tire service bay. I nearly left the store without any info, but I decided to ask someone inside the service bay for my documentation.

It took 20 minutes to get the information.

All in all, it took nearly 2 hours to get everything set. The price savings was all that great, add that up to the poor service, my first experience with Costco Tire Service will be my last.

I custom ordered a new 2021 Audi from Walters Audi Riverside

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
All of Costco and Walters Riverside Audi promises were broken, after my custom order 2021 Audi Q8 and waited 4 months for my car. This includes being a loyal customer buying a 740IL from Walters 20 years ago and being a member with Costco from the beginning before they bought out Price Club in 1986. I did not get a discount or a coupon that includes no response from Costco. Garry Rex Anderson Anderson Investment Company

Not as advertised

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Out of four dealerships not one honored the advertised Costco price. Three increased the finance factor by 50 to 100% to gain back the discount! One refused to provide the discount per their management I complained to Costco they said there was nothing they could do. How about a disclaimer stating the dealership did not have to honor the negotiated price. Typical bait and switch. So unbecoming to Costco!

Disappointed

The Costco "deal" was only $300 less than a posted price at another dealer. I certainly could have negotiated that $300 myself. Disappointed with Costco - for as much as this program is promoted, I expected a real savings. Not worth my time.

Useless Program - Costco Should Be Ashamed!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The "Costco Auto Program" is merely a lead service middle-manned by Costco (for a presumed kick-back from the respective dealer) for no real benefit to the Costco member. I have twice attempted to use the Costco Auto Program buying "service" and all it does is ask for your member number and contact info, then, based upon the zip code you enter, it spits out a "local" dealer.

BTW, your contact info has already been sent to the "local" dealer whether you'd want to use that dealer or not.

A one dealership the "Costco Price" was $500 off list price. Really?!?!

a whole $500 off list ... the sales person said that was the maximum discount through the Costco Auto Program.

Another "local" dealership Costco sent my contact info to without my expressed permission was over an hour away.

Bottom-line: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR PROVIDE YOUR ACTUAL CONTACT INFO TO THE COSTCO AUTO PROGRAM!!
